Boris Šajnović holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maribor, where he completed his academic studies, and further studies at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.
He started his career as a researcher at the Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland, at the Institute for Innovation Management, where he worked on the digitisation of the St. Petersburg harbour and the implementation of a circular green economy in the framework of EU projects.
His return to Slovenia was driven by a desire to work in the local environment and in industry, where he held various leadership positions requiring interdisciplinary knowledge, application of innovative methodologies and domain expertise in the fields of energy, digitalization, smart cities, infrastructure and mobility. He is actively involved in the national environment, holding a number of positions in various strategic development partnerships and expert councils.
